British sportswear manufacturer SBD Apparel is set to open a new factory in Rotherham which is expected to create more than 200 jobs. The announcement for this exciting £9 million development was made in March after planning permission was secured. The expansion is expected to take three years to complete.
SBD Apparell’s range of specialist products are sold internationally and include elbow and knee sleeves, powerlifting singlets and deadlift socks. Trusted by athletes across the world, the company is now set to expand their production, with a new 100,000 sq ft factory on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Catcliffe.
The company currently operates five buildings in South Yorkshire, but this new facility will bring their production onto one site. This venture will increase their floor space to produce growth opportunities and will also streamline and boost their production capacity. Their proposal was awarded £1.5 million by the Business Investment Fund grant from the Sheffield City Region.
Proud to be manufacturing in the heart of Yorkshire, the business manufactures elite sportswear products with the expert input of some of the world’s top coaches, sports medicine experts and engineers. Celebrating British ingenuity, the company combines new and traditional techniques to create leading sportswear products that are trusted by athletes across the world.
Situated between Rotherham and Sheffield, the new factory in Catcliffe will be easily commutable for people living in South Yorkshire.
